The BIRD Project has been in development for two years and I would like to offer my gratitude to the following people.
To begin, I would like to thank my husband Bill for his support and hard work in developing the data base for this project - and changing it every time I think of something new.
Also, a big Thank You to Jay Darmstadter for emailing the play lists every week.
The whole group appreciates the dedication of our teachers Sue Chase, Susan Jones, and Susan Oberman.

- Please send me your weekly dance lists or a list of the dances you do and rank them in the order of "most frequently danced to least frequently danced".
The goal of this project is to document which Intenational Recreational dances are being danced, how they compare to when they were first taught in the US, and if they differ regionally in the execution.
The project has three Phases.
1. A survey of how often dances are danced.
2. Documentation of teaching and execution of dances.
3. Documentation of your stories relating to folkdance.
The first part of the project is documentation of the dances that are done weekly (whenever a group gets together).
The second part involves the teachers and dancers. Documenting by video the teaching and execution of the dances.
The third area involves collecting stories from folkdancers about folkdancing.
